Includes a DVD that brings selected instruments to life. Sabine Katharina Klaus is the Joe R. and Joella F. Utley Curator of Brass Instruments and Professor of Music at the National Music Museum, University of South Dakota. She has served as "Historical Instrument Window" column editor for the International Trumpet Guild Journal since 2005. She is the recipient of the 2000 Densmore Prize and the 2014 Bessaraboff Prize of the American Musical Instrument Society, and the 2017 Christopher Monk Award of the Historic Brass Society. She publishes extensively on the history of brass instruments.
