Fred the Fork (Tenor Tuba Tc/Bc.Tuba Bc) ("Fred the Fork" was conceived in response to a request for new musical material for John D Elliotts group "Brasso ProFUNdo" or "Low Brass"! It is scored in this version for two tenor tubas and a bass tuba, but can also be played by horn and trombone plus tuba. The title alludes to a song written in 1928 Berlin by Weill and Brecht which has metamorphosised into a jazz standard. Like the original, "Fred the Fork" is in "swing" style and incorporates upward transpositions after each verse. Listen out for the cryptic musical quotation at the end. "Fred the Fork" was premiered by Brasso ProFUNdo on Saturday 29th June 2013. Their first performance of this work is available to watch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5Zf9FGOwYQ)
