They will all benefit from such doubling and some pieces have been marked to allow a variety of texture in trumpet choir situations. Although all items are written to be played by trumpets in B flat, the top part may be played by a smaller trumpet when the tessitura is felt to be too high for comfort. For practice it may be useful to transpose pieces into other keys.)
