Just Keep Moving (F Horn, Bass Trombone / Tuba, Marimba & Piano) (Neuheit Ensemble) Just Keep Moving is part of the concept album Chesapeake (Summit Records DCD 639), which features the American Brass Quintet alongside percussion and piano. This work represents one movement within an integrated recital program that includes Breakaway for two trumpets and electronics, Powell Trio for trombone, marimba and piano, and Three Sides for trumpet, vibraphone and piano. Comprising four movements of varied techniques and contrasting moods, Just Keep Moving culminates in an exhilarating final drive toward a climactic conclusion. The title derives from a lifelong philosophy offered by the composers mother, Betty, on confronting adversity and loss: "never stop, just keep moving"—wisdom that infuses the work with both resilience and forward momentum. The album concludes with Chesapeake, a brass quintet work that aurally depicts three sailing journeys on the Chesapeake Bay. Together, these works create a compelling musical journey of exploration and perseverance.
