Kuks - Hexen - Aria (Neuheit Trompete) Kuks - Hexen - Aria is a sonata for piccolo trumpet, trumpet and organ (or piano) composed in 2017 by the Slovak composer Juraj Filas. The work was premiered in August 2017 during the Hudební léto Kuks festival by trumpeter Marek Zvolánek and organist Pavel Svoboda. Inspired by the historic site of Kuks, renowned for its Baroque heritage and mysterious sculptures, this composition immerses the listener in a world that is at once dramatic, mystical and deeply expressive. Through the evocation of the "Hexen" - the witches - Juraj Filas creates a dark and fascinating atmosphere, blending tension, spirituality and lyricism. The writing highlights the full expressive richness of the piccolo trumpet or trumpet, alternating between virtuosic passages, theatrical outbursts and more contemplative moments. The organ adds a majestic and almost ceremonial dimension, reinforcing the narrative character of the work. With Kuks - Hexen - Aria, Juraj Filas created an intense and vivid work in which the dramatic power of the music meets the historical and spiritual heritage of the place that inspired it.
